Surrender

Do you ever feel like you are in a painting rut? I know there are time when I do... kinda like today! There is a huge project that I am currently working on that has taken over all of my time. As I sat down this morning to start working on it again I found it hard to get going. As an artist there are many times when you just need to take a break! I needed to paint something else, even if it was just for a moment. So, I quickly grabbed one of my sketchbooks and found this sketch of a girl I drew while sitting in church a few weeks ago. She is the cutest little girl and I loved how different her profile was from other faces I have drawn. So, here is a rough paint of that little girl to help get my creative juices flowing! Sometimes you need to surrender just a little time to paint what you want. Now I feel like I can tackle the world!!!

Here is the final picture of the Beach Mural with everything back in place. I love the way the lamps play with the colors and how cozy it feels.

Beach Mural

Here are pictures of my most current project. I did a mural of a beach scene on a 9'X18' wall. It was fun and quite enjoyable. I hope you enjoy it! I will also have to go take more pictures when the owner sets his room back up so you can get the grand scale of it. It seemed like a phenomenon to actually get it done. I had less than a month to do it. Normally that wouldn't be a problem, but I was also working over full time and getting ready to move all at the same time! Phew - glad I was able to get at least one thing done!

Mural

Here is a mural I painted during September and October. I need to go back and take some better pictures, but really wanted to put them up to show. I am working on another mural right now, so check back for another great painting (and probably better images of this one too). Enjoy!

Traveling Art Exhibit
